Ride Solar is an event supporting a local solar installation in a developing country

ASI is planning a charity bike ride on September, 17th. The money we raise will to the Collaboratory, a center of Messiah College, and the will use the funds to carry out a solar project in a developing country. We are still working with them to figure out what that specific project will be, so for now we are just looking for people to garner support and consider signing up for the ride. Business sponsorship packets will be available soon. Please contact Chris Byers at chris@advancedsolarindustries.com if you’re interested in sponsoring this unique and special event.

Riders can choose a 15, 30 or 63 mile (that’s a metric century folks) route that tours past local solar installations in Lancaster County. There’s something for everybody! After the ride there will be some “edutainment” offerings such as an electric car charged by solar power and other displays on how solar power works. Students at the Collaboratory will also be there representing other projects that they’ve done in the past.

We hope you can make it. Check out the website under sites we like on the blog home page!

We have a video on youtube too…
